2010 Vancouver Olympics - Judge the Judges- Your Rants and Raves

Vancouver's Olympic Opening Ceremonies were beautiful...Now the fun begins and it's time for the Athletes to compete for the honor to wear the Gold, Silver and Bronze metals for their abilities and skills. My husband and I have been watching the games for decades (our daughter Kristi got us into it) and many times we didn't agree with many of the judges decisions. How about you? Have you always agreed or found yourself disputing the voting?

Well now is your chance - on this Blog I will write my daily opinions about the coverage NBC is airing and what we think about the judges decisions for the next few weeks -and you can too by adding your comments. The comments for will be open for all and none will be deleted unless they are BLO (brutally language offensive).

NBC's website has the schedule and more Olympic information.

Today after hearing about the first fatal accident I felt tonight the Olympic Committee were very respectful to the Georgian team when they and the crowd gave them a standing ovation out of respect for the loss of the young man who lost his life. VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Nodar Kumaritashvili, a 21-year-old Georgian luger, died in a horrific crash
Only other minor glitch was lighting the Olympian Flame - if you didn't see it last night- click here to review a video clip -

  2. All in all I thought the judging was fair... but I was not fond of the sarcastic remarks made by the female commentator with Scott...When Commentators do this during the performances they sound very petty and small. The viewing audience is not blind - we can see mistakes when they're made. I for one think the snarky remarks are uncalled for. I'm sure the Athletes who have worked their hearts off to perfect their skills would be deeply offended if they heard what the commentators are saying about them...I know I am for them.

  3. Last night Pair Skating was beautiful --but again - why do the judges give Gold & Silver metals to athletes that fall down? The new scoring system is so confusing no one in the viewing audience understands it. There was a pair fom Florida that skated beautifully - no fall downs - yet they come in 10th? The one good thing last night is the Commentators actually held their comments so the home viewers could enjoy their performances.
